Missed the UCAS Deadline?

If you didn't manage to submit an application by the 15th January, don't worry! There are still ways to secure a place for September. UCAS will still process applications they receive after this date, until 30th June, however there are no guarantees universities will give equal consideration to your application, it will depend on how many other applications the course has recieved.

There is also the option to apply directly through clearing. Between July and September universities will advertise the courses they still have places available on. The peak time for clearning in England is mid-late August as people use the service after they have recieved their results. If you haven't yet applied through UCAS this cycle don't wait for peak time before submitting it. Take your time to write a personal statement, submit the application in advance and wait to receive your results to hear from universities.

If you did submit an application in time, but didn't receive any offers, or declined the offers you did receive, you can use UCAS Extra to apply to some alternative universities or courses. UCAS Extra only allows you to apply to one university at a time so you should prioritise your choices. Be sure to do your research to ensure the course and insitiution are right for you! Courses with the same name might have very different content at different institutions.
